Let's be honest with ourselves, trends come and go with the seasons, there is no way you can pay designer or even retail prices to stay on top of each new look.
I remember last year how popular it was to layer a plain tee under a lace cami. Well that of course is out, only to be replaced by anything and everything velvet! I am sure you've had similar experiences and understand the pain when you realize all the money you spent chasing a trend that died within a season.
I think it is important to say that you should remember that even though trends live and die quicker than a fruit fly, they always come back again. Which means that if you were to spend money on a more trendy piece, keep it and take care of it because you will surely wear it again!
Take the puffy sleeves of the 80's, once long gone, dismissed by fashion critics everywhere. Now, any retail store you go into has some shirt with a variation of that once hated over-sized sleeve.
A textured knit is everything this season. Find out how I found one for cheap!
TEXTURED KNITS aka Fuzzy Sweaters
Knits have been incredibly popular this winter season. But unlike previous winters, this years knits are all about texture and FUN.
The fuzzy sweater is incredibly comfy and straight out of the 90's. The trend has been seen on the Fall/Winter 2017 runways of designers like Chanel and Tommy Hilfiger.
Even more affordable brands like Urban Outfitters will cost you upwards of $50 to get your hands on something fabulously fluffy.
I love this trend. It's the perfect way too look in-style while still being incredibly comfortable.
To get the look for less I went to my local Value Village thrift store and found my own! The best part is that it was a half off day so I scored big time!
Brand: Joe Fresh
Size: XL
Sourced: Value Village
Price: $8.99 half off so $4.50
I have styled this sweater half-tucked into a pair of black Levi 501's. I styled the look by wearing large hoop earrings, sparkly silver ankle boots and a leather jacket.
How would you style yours?
